How rides become lit streets

Pick your town, bring the rides you already record, and watch the map fill in.

Pick a town

Each town's street list comes from OpenStreetMap, clipped to the town boundary. We split streets at intersections, so every block counts on its own. Driveways and parking aisles are left out.

Bring your rides

Upload GPX, FIT or TCX files one at a time, or a whole export archive as a single ZIP. The archive is the fastest way to bring years of rides. A ride you've already imported is recognised and never counted twice.

Connections to Strava, Garmin and Ride with GPS need approval from each company first, so they aren't available yet. Recording in the app itself is being tested.

What counts as done

A street segment is done when your track covers at least 80% of it, or more than half of it when the GPS dropped out at one end. Covering 20 to 79% marks it partial. We check heading and continuity too, so crossing a street at an intersection doesn't count as riding it.

When the map changes

Streets get added and fixed in OpenStreetMap. When we publish a new street list for your town, your rides are scored again and any change to your done miles is listed for you.
